I run my own business making Wedding Cakes. One day a client emailed me requesting a 5 tier chocolate and strawberry cake. It was to be shipped to Dublin. The client had tasted my cakes at a previous wedding and thought my work was amazing. As with all clients I treated this one the same. Alarm bells rang when the cheque I was posted did not have his name on. He would not give me a phone number and claimed to be deaf. All of our communication was by email.
I was to organize the transportation of the cake and this payment had been covered in the cheque. Mr Ben Parker was overly descriptive as to how and to whom I was to pay the shipping monies….via Mr Scott Williams. Cut a long story short, the cheque had been stolen and had I payed any shipping monies it would have gone straight to them. I am only a small business and luckily smelt a rat. Always be suspicious and if people are not straight with you or you suspect anything just google their names. Google Ben Parker Cake scam and you will see. These people target all over America and England and often in the Wedding industry.
