Best Courier Company Scam

NOTE: Please look below this report for comments by the company, individuals, employees, ex-employees and victims, if there are any. They may contain invaluable and important updates about this case.

I received a phone call from The Best Courier Company, and they wanted to confirm my son’s address, stating that they had a package from JC Penney they needed to deliver. They said it was paid for and insured for $8.00. They wanted to know my son’s phone number, which I did not give them. I asked if I could call them back, and they said yes and gave me a tracking number, and toll free number to call back. The caller’s name was Shelley. My son was suspicious when I called him, and I decided to tell her to deliver to my address. She said I would need a password as his name was the primary name, and mine was secondary. I told her I didn’t have a password, and she said it would be his place of employment. This bothers me, and I have found other scams similar to this, but none of the others seem to know what the scam is….just that they never receive a package, and this company seems to know more about me than they should.

  1. Mom Says:

A message was left on my phone by Jess at Best Courier. They had a package for my daughter that they were trying to deliver but had an incomplete address. I called back because this did not seem right. They used my daughter’s maiden name and she has not lived at my home for 10 years. The partial address was 1 street off and they had no house number. I asked where the package was from and she mentioned a company in California. But when I questioned why they had here maiden name, Jess offered me her current, married name. WHY DOES A COURIER COMPANY HAVE THAT INFORMATION? They asked for her phone number and I told her that she would have to get that from my daughter. She said ok and thanked me.
So, what is this about? Is this a scam gathering information to sell?
