A friend of mine told me she was making a ton of money on ebay. She said that she had found some international trade partners in China and was making a large profit because the Chinese offered such low prices. So I found myself a trade partner and started selling clothing online. After about a month, I decided to venture into electronics. I used a few of the popular trade sites such as Alibaba, Sulekha, and Importers.com. I priced around for the Nintendo Wii System. I figured this would be great to sell during Christmas. So I found several business that I was communicating with, and they were all offering right around the same price. I finally selected a merchant and sealed the deal.
I was dealing with a person called Judy and the company was called sunnyshopping.biz. They were very nice, seemed very available to answer questions, and had a very nice website.I sent western union transfer and was told I would have the tracking number within 12 hours. Needless to say, I never received anything. And now they will not respond to my inquiries. I am out $600 and it looks like they are still in business. They are always on Yahoo instant messenger but never respond to me. I have checked around, and it seems that there is nothing that I can do to recover my funds because I sent them via western union to a person in China. I have been told that Chinese don’t want to help if it’s small dollar amount, and if you don’t speak their language. I shudder to think that there are people negotiating terms with this “company” as we speak. They offer you the world and it sounds good so you take it. And what difference does it matter to them, because they are never going to give you anything. They will say whatever it takes to get you confident enough to take your cash to the nearest western union transfer station. And once your money is gone, it is gone forever.
I am writing this story knowing that I won’t get my money back, and tremendously annoyed everytime I get on messenger and see that smiley face lit up next to their name showing that they are online while holding onto my cash. But I want everyone to know that this company is a fraud and a scam. We want to believe that everyone is honest. And since I’d had previous positive experiences with Chinese merchants before, I thought that they were all just as honest. Shame on me. I won’t be doing any more western union money transfers, and won’t be negotiating with people who don’t give me their business license number, address and phone numbers of their companies. Buyers please beware: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t risk it.
NOTE FROM ADMIN: This is a very common type of advance fee fraud with western union. You can read my conversations with a scammer, to see how this particular fraud is done and what you can do about it.
