PayPal Fraud too, beware!


NOTE: Please look below this report for comments by the company, individuals, employees, ex-employees and victims, if there are any. They may contain invaluable and important updates about this case.

It is relatively simple – PayPal offer possibility of “top up” Paypal account through regular local bank account. But – wire transfer between banks takes a long time, so when some seller wanted his money quickly, I took my money in cash and paid in funds straight to Paypal account in local bank. Not by wire from bank to bank (long time), but cash to Paypal’s bank, just with my ID. It is not convenient and maybe not as usual, but not forbidden by Paypal.

But – Paypal don’t want accept it and even worse – dont’t want return money. Any member of Paypal team “understand my frustration”, but did nothing. It is still the same – “give me a number of your account, the funds of this transfer will be returned to your bank account, where the transaction was originally initiated…” and I say “it was in cash, so send it now back to my account No.XXX…, it was in cash, in cash…” In vain.

I know, it is not so much money, just ca 750 USD, but in fact – Paypal simply stole my money. It is sad truth :-(

Dear Natalie,

I dont know, how to say it more clearly. Bank – your bank – UNICREDIT BANK CZECH REPUBLIC, A.S., can see this payment. They have my money on your account. With my ID, so they know – and they are willing to give you all infos – but just account’s owner.

I did it then in cash (read carefully below), cause I needed top up my Paypal account it quickly, so now I can’t ask the bank for returning to any account. It was no transfer, but CASH. I didn’t know it must not be in cash, you have no such info on your website.

And now I can’t withdraw money, because I am not owner of the PayPal account in Unicredit bank. What do you need to know more???

Money – my money – you have on your account in Unicredit bank. And I want them. That’s all.

In relation to your top up funds, I will recommend you to contact the bank to reverse the transaction because within the PayPal procedure you should do the top up from your own bank account.

In this case the funds will not rich the PayPal account and the system will return them to the recipient but you have to contact with them to give them all the detail.

I will remind you the steps to top up your account for future occasions:

You can top up your PayPal balance from a local bank account registered in your name. The bank account details don’t have to be added to your PayPal account. Once the bank transfer is complete, the bank account you topped up your PayPal balance from may be automatically added to your PayPal account. If this is automatically added, you will be able to use it to withdraw funds from your PayPal account.

To top up your PayPal balance, please follow the instructions below:

1. Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/
2. Click Top Up Account.
3. Review the information and click Print transfer information
4. Go to your bank and initiate the transfer using the information you have printed out
5. In the Note field of the bank transfer form enter your unique PayPal bank transfer ID
o If the form does not have the Note field, please make sure that you add the bank account to your PayPal account before you initiate the top-up transfer.

It may take a few days for the funds to post to your PayPal balance. You will receive an email notification once the transaction is complete.

Note:
* Your bank account needs to be registered in the country you opened your PayPal account in.
* Make sure the name on your PayPal account matches the name on the bank account you use to top up your PayPal account. For example, if your name is James Patrick Smith, but your bank account is in the name of J P Smith, you would need to enter J P as your first name. If you do not enter your name exactly as it appears on your bank statement, the transfer may fail or take more time to complete.
* If the information provided when initiating the top-up transfer was incorrect, the transfer will fail. PayPal will not charge any fees. However, bank fees may apply. In this case, please contact your bank.
* You must have sufficient funds in your bank account to successfully top up your PayPal account.
