We located this company called pioneer lending in our local american classifieds paper. They have a nice looking website and when you call them you are met with politeness. We submitted an application online and were told that we were approved for a loan, but since our credit history was bad they required an up front payment to secure the loan. They requested the first 4 months payments. They tell you to send it by moneygram to a carrier service called brinks that they have hired to handle these transactions. When you send the money out you are supposed to get your loan with in hours. Well of course this never happened. When you call they give you the run around and hang up on you non-stop. When you look up their address on their website it is a department store in NY. These people are preying on people with bad credit and no one else to turn to.

I was contacted by this company today. They told me my student loan was in default and they could help me. The gentleman kept asking for my personal information and I flat out told him I was not going to give him any info. Then another guy got on the phone said he was working with the first guy to try and help me. I told him that I make my payments for my student loan and he became nasty asking for the phone and address of where I send my payment. I gave him the number and address then he tried to get personal info and convince me that I had several student loans. I told him I only have one student loan and if there was a problem then that institution would contact me. He then proceeded to tell me that I needed to be set up with automatic payments from my checking account. When I told him no, that is not true and I would not give any information, the phone went dead and we were mysteriously disconnected.
