The same thing happened to us, my daughter bought her father a gift card for father’s day and we ordered online and had to pay the shipping from our bank account and now, no record of our order through Nascar and ho way of contacting people who sold gift card. Scary world we live in.

I purchased a giftcard at Walgreens to the racingfanstore.com website on June 24th, 2009 and have not received my order yet (almost 2 months). Their website says it is temporarily closed, the toll free customer service number does not work and their customer service e-mail address does not work either. They have a long distance number on their website that I called 407-654-8785 and there is an answering machine that has a message saying Licensed Giftcards saying they are on the phone right now or it is after hours, and to leave a message. I left two messages letting them know I wanted my order and that none of their contact information is working except for this number. Did they go bankrupt or what? How do we find out about this company?

My wife purchased two $25. giftcards from wallmart for fathersday. I never received my order plus they charged my credit card for the amount I was over. This was July 11. The phone# on my statement is 407-466-9987. No answer just leave a message.

The same thing happened to me. I purchased 2 $25 giftcards for my husband from each of the kids for Father’s Day. He placed an on-line order without any problems and we never received the merchandise. After a few weeks I decided to call to find out the status of the order and I discovered that the phone number was disconnected and the site is now “temporarily shut down”. Since I still had my original purchase receipt (which I also bought at Walgreen’s) I was able to get $50 of store credit after speaking with the store manager who verified for himself that the phone number was no longer connected. For the person who also bought these cards from Walgreen’s if you still have your receipt I would try to get your money back even if it is in the form of store credit. I also made them pull all of the remaining cards off of the shelves so no one else would purchase them unaware that this company apparently has gone out of business.

Looks like someone went out of business. I went to use this today, and found the site unavailable, after last month it said it was temporarily down. I should have used this at the track several months ago when I could. Hopefully will still be able to in a couple weeks when I go again.
I did some research. Looks like RacingFanStore.com was opened by a sporting goods company called 9:24 Sports. Some quick research and I came up with that, and then found out their page is just like the RacingFanStore.com one, blank.
Found this cached on a search engine…

My daughter received a $25.00 gift card for Christmas last year. It was purchased at a Country Fair in Erie, PA. The website was working in January, but there wasn’t much of a selection to choose from. We decided to wait until we went to a race and use it trackside. We forgot in when we went to Michigan in August, but we went to the Dover race this past weekend. We were told that it was invalid when we went to use it. Evidently the company who issued the cards did not have Motorsports Authentics permission. I contacted MA today, and they added my information to the list of complaints. 9:24 Sports in Orlando, FL must be out of business since the phone number is out of service. I do not believe it is MA’s fault, but some other SOB out to rip us off!!!

Same as everyone else here. I received a $25 gift card for Fathers Day. I was about to check out one day for a purchase, but changed my mind. However, the giftcard balance showed $0 when I went back to use it. I emailed on of the addresses I found on their site. After a week or so, I did receive a reply from a very apologetic woman who stated they were having web site issues. She said she would make sure my card was credited back, and did take down the gift card number. Now today I just went to try and use it, but no site. I live in the Orlando area, but the stores location is about 30 miles south of me. I have not had the chance to take a drive a scope out the store to see if it is still open. What a shame!! Oh well, site was pretty overpriced!!
Class action suit maybe???

I was scammed as well with a gift card of $25 from a friend. With a little research as well as your comments and complaints, I just filed an online formal complaint with the state of Florida, since that is where the 9:24 store was actually located (Orlando). I attached the link to the complaint form from the Florida Division of Consumer Services below, along with the address of the business, and the one phone # that actuall still exists-even though it goes to voice mail- so hopefuly it can be tracked. I also suggested the class action lawsuit, but do not know how to start one, but I figured if enough people complained, some lawyer is bound to hear about it and file.
It’s a shame that there are so many scammers out there, but if we stick together as consumers and complain, maybe we can at least make a small difference in today’s society.

Thank you to everyone who posted comments. The info was helpful. My story is the same as everyone else. I received a $25.00 Gift Card. I was not impressed with the selection and was waiting to use my card. How disappointing that this can happen. I will be more cautious when I purchase gift cards for someone!

Gift cards are great deals for the seller

Where did all the money go. and why does our government not protect us from these scammers? This is a simple case of Grand Theft, lets call it what it is and go after the bums that pull this kind of crap! My understanding is that Speedway corporation of America(nascar)bought this outfit. why are they not liable?

Same boat as everyone else. It’s very sad that the public can be taken advantage of so easily. Where’s the justice here? Mine was a gift too. Waited for a better selection. The only good thing for me was I didn’t order something I really didn’t want, then pay the extra money, plus shipping, etc. I’m just out the gift! It would be nice to get some retribution.

Update: I just clicked the link posted above by Diane Hinck and also filed a complaint with the Florida Division of Consumer Services. It’s quick and easy to do. Everyone’s who’s been ripped off by these people should do it.
