Scammed on Gumtree For Concert Tickets

NOTE: Please look below this report for comments by the company, individuals, employees, ex-employees and victims, if there are any. They may contain invaluable and important updates about this case.

Hi there

I was trying to find tickets for Beyonce’s concert that will take place in November. I went to Gumtree.com to try my luck in there. Someone was advertising to sell Beyonce’s tickets so i contacted him and told him that i’m prepared to buy two tickets which will cost around £200.

He said that he was from Reading so that made it hard for to travel there. Then he suggested that he could arrange a postal so i agreed to it. He gave me his bank details so that i put the money through which i did, an amount of £210.

He then told me that he sent the tickets INSURED. I still to this day haven’t received the tickets. I tried to text him, email him but no reply.

His bank details:
Samuel O Wole
Sort Code: 11 08 74
Account: 00447322
Halifax
Mobile Number: 07538203113

I sent the money on 15th October 2009

I still have the receipt of me putting the money through.

Regards
Faris Nasar

Unfortunately this type of scam is as old as the hills. Am quite astounded that it keeps raking in victims again and again and again. Have you ever spoken to this guy? I’ve tried to call him previously!!

  5. Jo Says:

I just got scammed by this guy too for Green Day tickets on Gumtree… though I only agreed to pay half of the amount upfront until receiving the tickets. But am now out £90 and no tix!

Similar scam… Except person who responded to my email enquiry was Lauren Anderson lauren.anderson81@live.co.uk

Said she lived 2 hours out in Essex but could post the tickets if I paid cash into the Halifax account. She wrote: it’s a joint account but my other halfs the main name, Mr Samuel Wole & Miss L Anderson.

On the bank receipt, saw that the actual name on the account is S Oduwole.

Have since found out this guy has also been trying to sell Muse tickets on Gumtree. I feel like such an idiot for falling prey to this scam!

Yep – and again, avoid a miss AMY JONES. She gave me the same bank details as all you guys above. I told her she could have more than she’d asked for for 2 Kasabian tickets as long as I could pay her once I had the tickets in my hand & she agreed. They’ve still not arrived & after finding this thread I suspect they never will. Thank christ I didn’t xfer any cash! It seems as though anyone who has an email address ending in @live.com should be avoided like the arseholes they are…

Wish I had seen this last week I was scammed by a guy named Cam selling beyonce tickets at face value. Had his “office” number as a contact 0131 202 1313 ext 23 and also gave me his mobile number 07722249444.Said he was going to courier the tickets but obv didn’t. I sent him £120 to

    Alliance and Leicester
    Sort Code 725003
    Account Number 15042889

Luckily my hubby is a policeman so he will be getting caught lol. I have also spoke to the fraud department at his bank.

  15. Henri Says:

I got scammed buying Beyonce tickets for Manchester tonight on Gumtree. I transfered £100 for a ticket into a guy called Cameron Corsie’s account but did not recieve anything after he told me he would have the ticket couriered to me from Edinburgh to Leeds. His email is csc@royol.net and his mobile number is 07722249444. He uses his mates phones also, so I had random scottish people calling me asking who I was!
