Friday, November 14, 2008 John Peters with Sutherland Lending Group advising I was qualified for a $5000.00 loan contacted me by telephone. He faxed me the paperwork in which I signed and returned. He then called back and advised me I would need to make an initial security payment in the amount of $895.44. He told me to go to the nearest Wal-Mart and make a wire transfer using MoneyGram to a Linda T. Hastings in Bedford, Canada, and to make it easier to just transfer an even amount of $896.00. Once the wire transfer was made I was to call him back with the reference number (12/14/08, 14:04 p.m.- Reference # 91586557), which I did. He then informed me the funds would be deposited into my bank account by midnight that evening and no later than noon the next day.
On Monday, November 17 the funds were still not deposited into my bank account. I called John to inform him no deposit was made and he said he did not understand why so he transferred me to Frank Triggs. Frank Triggs explained to me the lender had re-evaluated my application and was going to require an additional security payment in the amount of $895.44. I questioned the additional payment and in response I was faxed a letter of apology for the inconvenience and assuring me if I made the additional payment the funds would be deposited into my bank account within 2 hours. This faxed letter was signed by George Mills, President / Chairman. I went ahead and wired another payment of $896.00 to a Nicole S. Benton in Bedford – Canada as Frank Triggs instructed me to. I then called Frank back with a reference number (11-17-08, 15:46 – Reference# 67278943) indicating I had made the wire transfer through MoneyGram. Two hours passed and the funds were not deposited. I called Frank Triggs back again and he informed me the lender was now requiring additional payment in which I refused to send. I asked for a refund. Frank verbally assured me I would be issued a complete refund for the funds I had transferred including the cost of the wire transfers at $14.16 for each transfer made. This refund was to be deposited into my bank account by December 1, 2008.
On Monday, Dec.1, 2008 I tried to contact Frank Triggs in regards to following up on the refund he indicated I would receive. I tried to get through to Customer Service from 10am. – 7 p.m. on Dec. 1. I was able to get through to a CSR one time in that 10-hour period and when the CSR asked my name – we were disconnected.
On Monday, Dec. 2, 2008 I was finally able to reach Frank Triggs. He informed me the refund would be made on Friday, December 5, 2008. I questioned the delay since he had previously indicated the refund would be made by Monday, Dec. 1, 2008. He said he would see what he could do and that I would need to call him back that same day (Dec.2) at 4:30 pm. I tried to reach Frank from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. but was unable to get past the Customer Service recording. I tried to call again on Wed., Dec. 3 and received an immediate recording “Good bye” and the line disconnects. The same recording came on when I tried to get through on Thursday, Dec. 4 as well. I tried to call on Monday, Dec. 8 and I am still getting a “Goodbye” message.
