From there to my destination in La Jolla (Grande Colonial Hotel) which is 14.3 miles. The taxi fare was calulating .20 per 1/16 mi. But I noticed, even though we were at stopped because of traffic jam, it was adding .20 per 15 seconds. So i was charged per mile and time. My total fare came out to $60.00. I argued with driver this was wrong to charge me per miles and time. Is this normal procedure to charging fares? I believe this information will serve me better to understand in future.
